What we collect
Account data such as email address, password, username, date of birth, display name, and profile details you choose to add.
Profile media such as photos and voice intros, plus onboarding inputs like bio, desires, preferences, and location-permission decisions.
Activity data such as matches, chat messages, reveal requests, venue check-ins, ratings, reports, blocks, referral activity, and couple-link status.
Device and technical data such as push-notification tokens, app logs, crash information, IP address, and authentication/session identifiers.
Location data used when you request a venue check-in or other location-based feature. The app uses the location you provide for that purpose; it does not need to track you continuously to function.
How we use it
To create and authenticate accounts, confirm age eligibility, and keep sessions working across sign-in and refresh flows.
To run core features such as profile discovery, consent-gated reveals, chat, venue presence, referrals, ratings, reports, blocking, moderation, and Trust Score calculations.
To send operational notifications such as new messages, reveal requests, and account activity when you enable push notifications.
To enforce safety and integrity rules, including anti-bot checks, report review, restriction handling, and account deletion requests.
Who we share it with
Other users receive only the information needed for the features they are using, such as masked profile content, chat messages, or a revealed identity after mutual consent.
Service providers that help us operate the app, including hosting, authentication, storage, and push-notification delivery. For example, push tokens may be processed by Expo's notification service when notifications are enabled.
We may disclose information when required to comply with law, enforce our terms, investigate abuse, or protect users and the service.
Retention and deletion
Account data is kept while your account is active. If you request deletion, we remove or delete the account and associated user data that is no longer required for safety, legal, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Profile photos and voice intros are deleted when the account is deleted.
Verification images are deleted after review and are also removed when the account is deleted.
Reports that name a user may be retained to support safety review, abuse prevention, and legal obligations.
Children
Masquerade is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly allow accounts for anyone under 18.
